Delete your data
Simorq has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or phone number. Everything the app sends to our servers is tied to the installation record of that phone, and only a key created on that phone shows that a request comes from you. That is why you delete your data from inside the app.
Delete it in the app
- Open Simorq and go to the Me tab.
- Open Privacy & security.
- At the bottom of the page, under Actions, tap Delete my data at Simorq.
- Read what it does and tap Yes, delete my data.
If the phone is offline, the request waits on the phone and the app tries again. Data on our servers is deleted once our server acknowledges the request. After that, this phone starts a new record with a new identifier that is not linked to the old data.
What is deleted
On our servers, everything that came from this installation:
- the installation record and your privacy choices, with your phone's make and model, Android version and memory class if they were stored on it
- the copies of the reports you sent to the Nest, with their areas and city names
- speed samples
- daily usage summaries
- the feedback you sent
- the answers you reported
On the phone, anything still waiting to be sent to us (Nest reports, feedback and reported answers) is discarded and never sent.
We keep only a deletion record: the record's identifier and the dates of the request and of the deletion. It exists so that the identifier is never reused and we can show that the deletion took place, and it is kept as long as that requires.
Reports that already reached other phones over Bluetooth stay on those phones; this request cannot reach them. A single report cannot be deleted on its own.
Your conversations, what the assistant remembers and your saved items stay on your phone and are never sent to us, except an answer you choose to report. This request does not remove them from the phone. To remove them, tap Forget everything on the same Privacy & security page; it erases everything on the phone and also asks us to delete the data on our servers.
Uninstalling the app is not enough
Uninstalling Simorq makes Android delete the app's data on that phone, but the data on our servers stays.
The key that shows a request comes from you is deleted with the app, so after uninstalling you can no longer ask for deletion. Tap Delete my data at Simorq first, while the phone is online, and then uninstall.
If you lost your phone or already uninstalled
Simorq has no account, email address or phone number for you. Without that phone we cannot tell which data is yours or verify that a request really comes from the person the data belongs to.
You can still write to hello@simorq.studio and we will answer. In that case, though, data on our servers is deleted only when its retention period ends:
- Location on Nest reports (the area or the city name): removed after 90 days.
- Daily usage summaries: after 90 days.
- Copies of Nest reports: after 12 months.
- Feedback and reported answers: after 12 months.
- Your phone's make and model, Android version and memory class on the installation record: when you turn the usage summary off; without the phone, only together with the record.
- The installation record and speed samples: no time limit. They are kept until Delete my data at Simorq is sent from that phone.
The installation record contains no name, email address, phone number or location. If you install Simorq again, the new installation gets a new record that is not linked to the old one, so deleting data from it does not reach the old data.
